7z is a simple and lightweight archiver based on open-source code. In addition to advanced compression algorithms, the program allows you to check the integrity of files, protect archives with a password using ZipCrypto or AES-256 encryption.

7z has a modest interface. The main commands are displayed on the home screen. Although it seems old-fashioned, the user does not have to search for the right button for several minutes. The program is also built into Windows. You can create an archive of files and folders with a couple of mouse clicks.

There is a viewing area at the bottom of the program window. You can select the files to be archived or extracted right there. It is convenient to use the drag and drop feature.

The program automatically measures the performance of your computer while the files are being packed. The user can change the number of threads for 7z work independently.
