How to install Cleo on GTA SA

CLEO is a library of scripts, opcodes, and plugins for GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. Thanks to CLEO, you can add popular scripts written by fans and modders, and scripted commands (opcodes) allow you to expand the functionality of the old parts of GTA.

At the time of writing this material, CLEO 4+ library has been released, which can be downloaded on our website or at the address “https://cleo.li/ru”. Below you can find instructions on how to install CLEO for GTA San Andreas.

Installation Guide for CLEO on GTA SA

Download the library archive from any trusted source. Right-click on the file and select "Extract All" or "Extract to CLEO4\".

Next, follow these steps:

  • Go to the "CLEO4" folder;
  • Run the installation file;
  • Check the boxes for "Base CLEO4 file" and "CLEO 4.1 SDK";
  • Uncheck "Sanny Builder 3 data files";
  • Click "Next", specify the path to San Andreas, and click "Next" again;
  • Wait for the installation to finish.

To confirm the correct installation of the library, go to the root folder of GTA San Andreas and check if there is a folder named "CLEO". If the folder is present, then everything has been done correctly and you can proceed to installing scripts and other enhancements for the game.

How to Install CLEO Scripts

Scripts for the CLEO library have the extension ".cs". They can be compiled using the program "Sanny Builder", which can also be used to edit existing scripts. CLEO scripts can be downloaded from thematic portals dedicated to the GTA game series. You can see a small list in the image below.

To install a script, you need to:

  • Download the script with the extension ".cs";
  • Go to the San Andreas folder;
  • Find and open the CLEO library folder;
  • Copy or move the script file.

When installing a script, keep in mind that the first seven characters in the file name will be displayed as the script identifier in the library. For example, a script named "showmagazinforce.cs" will be displayed as "showmaga". To remove the installed script, simply delete the file that was copied to the library folder.
