The system firewall is used to control incoming and outgoing IP addresses (traffic). The firewall function first appeared in Windows XP with Service Pack 2. The second way to disable the firewall in Windows 7 is to disable the service responsible for its operation. To do this, go to the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu, go to the "System and Security" tab.

Then, perform the following actions:

In the main window, click on "Administration", then click on "Services" in the list of tools.
Alternative way - press "Win + R", enter the command "services.msc" without quotes in the field.
Third way - press the "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" key combination. Go to the "Services" tab and click the "Services..." button at the bottom of the window.
In all cases, the "Services Manager" window will open. In the list of services, find the line - "Windows Firewall", click on it with the left mouse button and click "Stop Service" on the left side of the window.
Wait for the service to stop working.
Click on the firewall service again. After stopping, only one action will be available in the left part - "Start Service".
Double click on the "Windows Firewall" line. In the first tab "General", look for the "Startup Type" line and set the parameter to "Disabled".
Save the changes by clicking the "OK" button.

As a result, the firewall service will be disabled until the user enables it again. If the last 3 actions are not performed, the service will resume immediately after the computer restarts.

Method #3

A faster way to turn off the firewall service in Windows 7 is to make changes through the "System Configuration". To do this, go to "Start" -> "Control Panel", the "Administration" tab, the "System Configuration" section.

Alternative way - press the "Win + R" key combination, enter the command "msconfig" without quotes. In the "System Configuration" window, go to the "Services" tab, find "Windows Firewall" in the list and uncheck it. Click the "OK" button. In the small window, click "Restart".

Method #1

Similar to the seventh version of the operating system, in Windows 10, you can disable the firewall most easily through the "Settings". To do this, click on the "Start" icon in the lower left corner and click on "Settings".

Then, perform the following actions:

Go to the "Update & Security" section, click on "Windows Security" in the left part of the window, and in the right part, click on "Firewall & network protection".
In the new window, click on the network that is currently active, then in "Windows Security Firewall", move the toggle switch to the "Off" position.
Close all windows and continue working with the OS.

Method #2

In addition to the system settings menu, you can disable the firewall in Windows 10 through the familiar "Control Panel". Click on the "Start" menu, find the "Windows Administrative Tools" folder in the list of programs, then click on "Control Panel". Alternative way - enter the corresponding query in the Windows search.

After that, follow these steps:

Method #4

The Windows firewall includes many parameters that can be controlled through a special settings menu. Deactivating the inter-network screen is one of these settings. To access this menu, you will need to go to "Start", find the "Windows Firewall and Defender Monitor" folder, and click on it.

In the main part of the window, scroll down and look for the "Windows Defender Firewall Properties" option. In the new window, go to the "Domain Profile" tab and set the "Firewall State" to "Off". Confirm the changes by clicking the "OK" button.

Method #5

An unconventional way to disable the Windows firewall through the service. It is similar to disabling it in the seventh version of the OS. Press the "Win + R" key combination and enter the command "regedit" without quotes.

In the "Registry Editor" window, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM, click on the "CurrentControlSet" folder, then go to "Services", and then to "mpssvc". In the right part of the window, look for the "Start" item, click on it, and right-click. Enter "4" in the "Value" and confirm the changes. Restart the computer. To enable the service, follow the same steps, but enter "2" instead of "4" in the field next to the "Value".

Windows 11

Windows 11 was released at the end of 2021. It is the latest representative of the NT family at the moment. It includes all updated packages, including Microsoft Office 2021. The percentage of users among all Windows as of January 2023 is 18%.

Method #1

The easiest way to disable the inter-network screen in Windows 11 is through the security section in the system settings. Go to "Settings" through the "Start" menu. Then, in the left part of the window, select the "Privacy & Security" section, and in the right part - "Windows Security".

After that, click on "Firewall & network protection", select any active network, and in the "Microsoft Defender Firewall" section, move the toggle switch to the inactive position (Off). Finally, close the notification window by clicking the corresponding button in the upper right corner.

Method #2

The "Control Panel" in Windows 11 has been replaced by the "Settings" section, but the developers have not removed it from the system. The firewall can also be disabled through the panel. Go to the "Start" menu, type "Control Panel" in the search field, and continue.

To disable the firewall in Windows 11, do the following:

Go to the "Windows Security Firewall" section.
In the left part of the window, select "Turn Windows Firewall on or off...".
Select "Turn off Windows Firewall..." for private and public networks.

Windows 7

Windows 7 was released in late 2009. In the autumn of 2020, Microsoft decided to end support for the system. Currently, Windows 7 users account for about 10% of all Microsoft operating systems.

Method #1

The easiest way to deactivate the firewall in Windows 7 is through the "Control Panel". To do this, click on the "Start" menu in the lower right corner of the screen and go to the panel.

The further actions are as follows:

As a result, the firewall service will be disabled until the user re-enables it. If the last three steps are not performed, the service will resume operation immediately after the computer is restarted.
