How to add a font to Paint 3D
Paint 3D successfully combines the capabilities of a 3D editor with all the functions of the classic version of the program. While working with 3D may require specific skills from the user, the text addition and image editing function is even available to beginners. Let's figure out how to add a new font to Paint 3D, where to find it, and what to do with it next.
Where to find fonts
You can find new fonts on specialized portals that are catalogs of free and paid fonts. To do this, type a query like "font free download" in any search engine and click on the search results. On these portals, you can choose a font from the offered list, find a suitable option in a specific collection (for example, gothic, designer, vintage, etc.), or use the internal search.
Thematic portals
For example, we went to the largest font library in the Russian Internet - fonts-online.ru. On the left, we selected the section "Categories" and went to "Artistic Fonts". We found the font "Morice Bejar" and clicked on its name. In the upper left corner, you will find the button "Download...", click on it and pass the verification of "I am not a robot", then click again on "Download Morice Bejar". As a result, we downloaded the desired font in the ".ttf" format.
Google Fonts
Google Fonts is a font library from the company with the same name. The website is located at "fonts.google.com". At the top of the page, you can search for the desired font, select a category, language, and font style.
For example, enter "gothic" in the catalog search, then press "Enter". The search results will be displayed as a list of found fonts. Click on the preferred option, check the font, and download it by clicking the "Download family" button in the top right corner of the screen.
How to add a font to Paint 3D
If you follow the examples described above, you will have downloaded the font in a ZIP archive.
To install it, you will need to:
- Go to the "Downloads" folder in your browser.
- Find the archive with the downloaded font, right-click on the file, and click "Extract all" or "Extract here".
- Go to the folder with the name of the downloaded font.
- Double-click left-click on the file with the ".ttf" extension.
- In the opened window, click "Install" and wait for the installation to finish.
- Restart your computer.
As a result, the downloaded font will be added to the Windows library. Now you can use it in any graphic package, including Paint 3D, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, etc.
How to add text to Paint 3D
You can add text with a previously installed font to both a new canvas of a project and an old project previously created in Paint 3D.
To add text to a project, you need to:
- Click on the "Start" menu, type "Paint 3D" in the Windows search, and launch the program.
- Create a new project or open the current project by clicking on the corresponding buttons.
- Go to the "Text" tab in the top menu.
- In the right part of the program, select the name of the font that was previously added to the system. In our example, we downloaded and installed the font "Morice Bejar". Select it from the list, set its size, style, and alignment.
- Click LMB on the canvas where you want to add the text, enter the desired text, and click anywhere on the canvas to apply it.
How to edit text in Paint 3D
To edit text in Paint 3D, you need to select the area around the added text by using the left mouse button. Available tools will appear on the right side, which can be applied to the text: create a sticker, make the text three-dimensional, cut, rotate, etc.
You can rotate the selected area on the canvas using the arrow icon in the center. If you need to resize it, use the control points on the edges and center of the selected area. You cannot directly format the added text. To add new text, you need to select the old one and delete it using the "Backspace" key. Then you can add new text using the instructions above.
