Connecting AirPods to Android: Top Applications

Previously, AirPods could only be used on devices with the iOS operating system. However, now there are enough applications for smartphones and tablets based on Android that allow you to use AirPods correctly with this system. Let's take a closer look at these utilities and how to work with them.

A free application designed to connect and control AirPods headphones on Android devices. Currently, the application is not available on Google Play - it can be downloaded from our website or other trusted sources.

To connect AirPods using PodsControl, you need to do the following:

1. Turn on Bluetooth on your device.
2. Put the headphones in the case, open the lid, and hold the settings button on the case.
3. Select the "Connected Devices" subsection in the smartphone settings, click on "Add Device" and select the headphones from the list.
4. Install the program using the downloaded APK file.
5. During the first launch, you will need to go through a step-by-step automatic setup.
6. During the setup, you need to allow the application access to data and geolocation.
7. Complete the setup, the program will automatically sync the AirPods with your smartphone.

If the setup was completed correctly, the application will be loaded every time the AirPods are connected to the device.

Visually, the utility is designed in a light style, with a minimalist modern design, it works quickly and does not freeze. In addition to connecting, it also displays the charge level of the case and the headphones themselves.

Airdroid

A free mobile application that shows the battery level of AirPods on Android devices. It supports AirPods 1 and 2 models, and support for the Pro version is currently in beta testing and will be added in the near future.

To synchronize the headphones with the smartphone, you need to:

1. Enable Bluetooth.
2. After downloading, install the application and allow access to the location when it is running.
3. Connect AirPods to the device through the main menu in the "Connected Devices" section.
4. Launch the application and wait for the charge level of the case, right, and left headphone to be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

After that, you can take out the headphones from the case and use them, while the case indication will disappear in the application itself. In the program settings, you can set it to launch when AirPods are connected to the device, show notifications about low battery level, and enable dark mode.

The application takes up about 10 MB, works quickly, and has a good design. It loads as a small window at the bottom half of the screen.

AirBattery

Another application for working with Bluetooth headphones, including AirPods 2016 and 2019 models, Powerbeats Pro, and BeatsX.

The application offers the following set of functions:

• battery level check;
• status icon for battery display;
• automatic activation when headphones are connected;
• work only with devices closest to the smartphone;
• headphone detection when working with Spotify.

The last function has also been successfully tested with YouTube, Deezer, and Apple Music applications, but to use this function, you need to manually activate it through the settings menu. The full range of described features is only available in the PRO version.

The connection of the headphones is similar to that of competitors. In fact, the utility will do everything automatically, you just need to turn on Bluetooth and add AirPods to the connected devices.

AirBuds Popup

A conditionally free mobile application for synchronizing Bluetooth headphones and displaying the battery status. It supports most models of modern wireless headphones, including AirPods.

To connect them using the application, you need to:

• turn on Bluetooth and connect AirPods to the device through the main menu;
• download and install the application;
• when launching the program for the first time, check the boxes for geodata, pop-up window, and access to notifications;
• tap on the screen it will say "Activated" and make sure that AirPods are synchronized with the smartphone.

In the paid version of the application, there will be a notifications widget that will show the charge status of the connected devices in a smoothly animated popup window.

Dark mode and the auxiliary listening function will also become available, allowing you to hear the interlocutor when wearing headphones.

A conditionally free utility for managing the operation of AirPods 1/2/3 and Powerbeats Pro. It adds a battery monitoring function displayed in the notification bar and an "ear detection" when the headphones are inserted or removed from the ears.

The full version of the application (229 rubles for Russia) supports voice assistant for two taps and voice call for four taps on the headphone accordingly.

Podroid

A free application for monitoring the status of wireless headphones for smartphones or tablets. There is Podroid Pro - an extended version with the ability to check the battery status, switch tracks, fast forward audio files, etc.

To connect headphones through Podroid, you need to perform the following steps:

• turn on Bluetooth, connect Apple headphones through the smartphone menu;
• after downloading the application, allow access to notifications;
• then, grant access to geodata in any mode of program operation;
• the main menu of the application should display the connected headphones and the case with tracking their charge level.

In the settings, you can select events for double or triple tapping on the headphones. For example, next song, increase volume, decrease volume, fast forward, etc.

In the free version of the program, ads are shown. To disable them, you need to upgrade to the paid version - a one-time payment of 75 rubles for residents of Russia.

Assistant Trigger

A conditionally free application for interacting and controlling AirPods on Android devices. It displays the battery level of each headphone, the charging and storage case. It supports the voice assistant function.

The setup and connection process of the headphones takes place in several steps:

1. Before launching the application, turn on Bluetooth and connect the headphones to the device.
2. Give permission for the application to access location data.
3. Disable battery optimization when the application is running.
4. By default, the program will automatically detect the model of the connected headphones, but if necessary, you can manually specify it.

Like other competitors, the professional version of the application does not have ads, and it provides touch control, displaying the battery level in notifications. The price for Russia is 129 rubles.

During the first launch, you need to grant access to notifications and the location of the device. Then, you can connect the headphones through the menu. If the actions are performed correctly, the widget will display the left and right headphones, as well as their charge level.
